Christmas 2008

Christmas was great. Emerson LOVED it and was very excited aout Santa (who brought her a doll). There are photos in the Photos section.

I'm a PC...on TV

Last week I found out that I was included in a nationally televised commercial for the "I'm a PC" campaign. You can watch the video on SoapBox.

Check it out!

Trick or Treat

Trick or Treat!Halloween has come and gone, and it was a blast. Last year Emerson went trick or treating, but she didn't remember it this year. Either way, it didn't take long for her to catch on. Before Halloween we practiced saying "Trick or Treat! Thank you. Happy Halloween." We were in California all week leading up to Halloween, and got home on the 31st at 3:00 to the cold and dreary Northwest Fall.. By 6:30 Emerson was dressed up as "Winter Tinkerbell" (Tink in a turtle neck and Ugg boots) and ready to go.

The TnT crew was made up of five characters (4 of which were 3-yrs or younger). Emerson as Tink, Charlie as Tigger, Ben as Superman, Abby as a mouse, and Hannah as a princess. From 6:45 - 8:00 this motley crew terrorized the suburban paradise of Edgemoore on the Sammamish Plateau, leaving each house with the mantra "Trit or tree! Tank you! Happy Halloway!"

Each child got enough sugar to keep them awake for 6-weeks.

Emerson had a great time, and fortunately forgot all about her basket of candy within 2-days (although she still wants to dress up as Tinkerbell daily).

I'm ready to trick or treat.

User Group Session: A Lap Around Visual Studio Team System 2010

TeamSuite_Angle On Monday, 13-Oct I will be presenting a session at my local (and favorite) user group, the .NET Developers Association. For this session I will be providing a demo-filled tour of the next release of VSTS - Visual Studio Team System 2010. This is your chance to come and see some of what we will be showcasing at the upcoming PDC 2008 later this month.

Tell your friends, tell your boss (heck, maybe you'll get paid to come). One lucky attendee will walk away with a fully licensed copy of Visual Studio Team System 2008 Team Suite.

A Lap Around Visual Studio Team System 2010

In this session you will witness a demo-intensive tour of the upcoming release of Visual Studio Team System. This session will walk-through an example development iteration and highlight some of the advancements, that way you see the new capabilities in context. Expect to see new capabilities being delivered across Team System, including the new Architecture Explorer, architecture layer diagrams, gated check-in, build workflow, branch visualization, historical debugging, test case management and execution, improved work item tracking, and improved support for agile planning. This will be a fast paced, exciting session, filled with demos.

Yes, I'm a P.C.

I LOVE the new "I'm a PC" commercial. It makes me proud to say "I'm a P.C." (OK, that's a bit odd, but what the heck).

I'll admit, I love Apple. In fact, I was a die-hard Apple user for many years before making the move to Windows. Apple makes things very elegant and desirable. Their products, their apps, their Web site...I'll bet their trash just looks good (and it probably operates very intuitively).

The fact is, that I'm a Microsoft guy, and have been for the past 10-years. I've owned Mac's - my last one was the last MacBook before the Intel switch. I've owned iPods - in fact I still have one in my car to play my daughter's Disney songs. I also own Windows P.C.s, Zunes, an XBox, and Windows Mobile phones (OK, I'll admit, I wish Windows Mobile was as sexy as the iPhone, but at least I own my phone instead of renting it).

No real point other than...my name is Doug Seven and I'm a P.C. and I'm proud of it.
